The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a multiple-choice exam designed to measure the basic knowledge and skills of prospective nursing students. TEAS has a total of 170 questions covering reading, math, science, and English and language usage. The total time available to test is 209 minutes.
REGISTERING AND SCHEDULING FOR TEAS
First, go to the ATI Testing website and create an account.
The SUNY Orange Test Center site is listed by ATI as Orange County CC ADN.
You will need an ATI account to complete the check-in process on the day of your exam. It is recommended that when you create your account on the ATI website that you write down your account username and password. You must bring this username and password with you to the Test Center on the day of the exam. Next, you will schedule a day to take your exam with our Continuing Education office from one of the exam dates offered below.

The TEAS testing schedule is as follows:
- Thursday, October 6 at 1:00 pm
- Thursday, October 20 at 1:00 pm
- Thursday, October 27 at 1:00 pm
- Tuesday, November 8 at 1:00 pm
- Tuesday, November 15 at 1:00 pm
- Thursday, November 17 at 1:00 pm
- Thursday, December 8 at 1:00 pm
- Thursday, December 15 at 1:00 pm
There are a set number of seats available for each date. Seats are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
For students with testing accommodations, who would like to use their accommodations to take the TEAS exam, please contact our Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) at (845) 341-4077 to schedule an appointment to meet with a Disability Specialist to discuss what reasonable accommodations the college will approve based on your documentation and intake.
TEAS candidates pay a non-transferable, non-refundable SUNY Orange test proctoring fee of $25 prior to their testing appointment. You may pay the SUNY Orange $25 test fee by MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or money order. Allow yourself at least a half an hour prior to the test to complete the payment process. To pay for your exam, you will first go to the CAPE office to receive a payment memo which will then be processed in Student Services Central.
On the day of the exam candidates will also pay a $55 ATI exam fee as part of the exam check-in process. Payment can only be made by credit card. ATI accepts Visa, MasterCard, DiscoverCard, American Express, or Diner's Club Credit, debit, or pre-paid charge cards.
ON TEST DAY
Test takers must bring a government-issued, photo identification (such as a driver's license or passport), a receipt of payment for the SUNY Orange proctoring fee, and a credit card to process payment for the $55 ATI exam fee.
Note: Your exam will be scored immediately upon completion. You may view your scores at any time by signing into your ATI account at atitesting.com.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please be on time. If you arrive late, the proctor may refuse to seat you in order to avoid disrupting the other candidates. It is recommended that you allow yourself approximately 4 hours total to complete your exam. Seating is limited, so please do not wait until the last minute to schedule.
