How do I find my MySUNYOrange login?

  • A MySUNYOrange login is created for each SUNY Orange student, faculty member and staff member.
  • Once faculty or staff members complete their in-processing paperwork with Human Resources, a MySUNYOrange account will be created. Employee usernames are firstnamelastname (eg: Paul Smith would be paulsmith).
  • The first time a student registers for a class, a MySUNYOrange account will be created. Students can find their "A" number, which serves as their username, on either their acceptance letter or class schedule.
  • If you are unable to find your username and initial password, you may look up you username yourself or contact the SUNY Orange Help Desk to retrieve your username.

Trouble logging in?

  • What is my username and initial password (students)?
    Your Web Single Sign On username will be your "A" number, which can be found on your acceptance letter or class schedule. Your initial password will be your date of birth in MMDDYY format. Upon your first log in, you will be prompted to create a personalized password and answer a series of security questions that will be associated with your account. It is important to remember your answers because these questions will be asked whenever you need to change/reset your password. If you do not know your "A" number, please contact the SUNY Orange Help Desk during its posted hours. Log in again.

  • What is my username and initial password (faculty/staff)?

  • What if I have forgotten my username?
    If you have forgotten your username or you want to look it up (for example, if you are not sure whether you are a student employee or a just a student at some point), then use the forgot user name link. You will be required to enter your full name and date of birth.

  • How do I change/reset my password?
    If you need to reset your password, please click the reset password link at the bottom of the login page. You will be prompted to answer two security questions to verify your identity before your password is changed. If you do not remember the answers to your security questions, please contact the SUNY Orange Help Desk during its posted hours. Reset your password.

  • What if I've forgotten or want to change my security questions?
    If you know your username and password, you can reset your security questions yourself. You must be logged into MySUNYOrange to reset or change your security questions. Follow this link to reset or change your security questions (Opens in new window/tab). If you are not logged on to MySUNYOrange, you will be required to log on after you click the link. You will be shown a list of your security questions; click the "Clear Answers" button if you want to change your questions. (If your security questions are not set up yet, you will be taken directly to the screen where you can set them up.) Be sure you really want to change your questions; once you click the button you must choose and answer four security questions before you can log back on to MySUNYOrange. After you choose four questions and type in your answers, cick on the "Save Answers" button. You will be shown a screen where you can view and confirm you security questions and answers by clicking the "Confirm Security Answers" button or you can choose to start over again with new questions and answers by clicking the "Go Back" button.

  • Which username do I use if I'm a student employee?
    Once you become a student employee, you will login using the Faculty/Staff format of firstnamelastname (eg: paulsmith). Your password will remain the same as it was with your student account. The change usually becomes effective with 24 hours of submitting your paperwork to Human Resources. You will not lose any of the email contained in your student account. It will now appear in your employee account. Log in again.

  • I am no longer a student employee, which username do I use?
    Once you are no longer a student employee, you will return to using your "A" number as your username. Your password will remain the same as it was with your employee account. You will not lose any of the email contained in your employee account. It will now appear in your student account. Log in again.

  • I've successfully logged in, but I can't access either e-mail or Self Service Banner (or both).

  • I've successfully logged in, but I can't access Blackboard.

  • How do I find Help in Blackboard?

    A link to Blackboard's Learning Center has been placed on the "My Institution" page in our Blackboard system. It is available to students, faculty and staff. The Learning Center has a collection of brief video tutorials on using Blackboard.

    There is a special section for students, demonstrating how to accomplish the most common tasks in Blackboard.

  • I am a newly admitted student. Why can't I access my Financial Aid status on Banner?
    Applicants and newly admitted students receive a detailed financial aid status letter via regular mail. Newly admitted students are only granted access to their records in Banner once they've registered for classes. After you've registered for your first semester of classes, you will receive access to your Banner account.

  • Why do I occasionally get "timed out" of my MySUNYOrange services?
    If you are logged into MySUNYOrange and do not conduct any activity for the period of one continuous hour (60 minutes), your account will automatically be logged out due to inactivity.This is a safety feature intended to protect you if you walk away from a machine and forget to log out. If you are logged out due to inactivity, you will need to log in again to continue working. Return to MySUNYOrange.
