Middle States Accreditation

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association that defines, maintains, and promotes educational excellence across institutions with diverse missions, student populations, and resources. MSCHE is an institutional accreditor that reviews institutions as a whole rather than specific programs within institutions.

For more information about MSCHE, please visit their webpage at https://www.msche.org/

Institutions who are accredited by MSCHE must be able to meet the Commission’s Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation and comply with all policies, procedures, and guidelines.

The 7 Standards for Accreditation include:

Standard 1: Mission and Goals
Standard 2: Ethics and Integrity
Standard 3: Design and Delivery of the Student Learning Experience
Standard 4: Support of the Student Experience
Standard 5: Educational Effectiveness Assessment
Standard 6: Planning, Resources and Institutional Improvement;
Standard 7: Governance, Leadership and Administration.

SUNY Orange is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The College is scheduled for its reaccreditation visit during April 2023.
