Health and Wellness Education
As a community college wellness center, we are prepared to deal with a diverse student population with health concerns that range from safe sex and AIDS to menopause. We practice a holistic style of nursing, which takes into account the whole person, including one's family, culture, and social supports as vital factors in one's health or wellness.
We offer health education seminars that cover a wide range of health issues.
Visit our About Us page, where you will find a list of the services we offer our students and staff.
Faculty members frequently invite us as guest speakers on a range of health topics from stress management to safe sex and drugs.
On each campus we host an annual Wellness Fair, several blood drives, and monthly health topics presentations.
The NYS Department of Health and Planned Parenthood offer free, confidential HIV testing and education on both campuses monthly. Dates and times for these events can be found on our Events page. Check it frequently; new information is posted regularly.
Our office also maintains an extensive collection of current health education brochures and pamphlets on issues from AIDS to Herpes Zoster. Please stop in and browse our brochure table. You may also visit our Health and Wellness Resource Library for information on a wide array of health issues.
