This webinar will be presented in the Center for Teaching and Learning (RCSE 008).
The following is the webinar description provided by the SUNY Center for Professional Development:
"During the webinar, Mary Ellen Weimer will give a short overview of the principles underlying the Institute and the plan for the week. Her presentation will be followed by a Q&A."
More information about the summer institute follows:
"This five day intensive workshop will provide attendees the opportunity to begin the process of redesigning a course or program, under the guidance of well-known teaching-learning educator, Maryellen Weimer.
Participants will bring a course (format does not matter--online, face-to-face, flipped, etc.) or program to this week long professional development activity. Preferably it will be a course they regularly teach (not a new prep), and one that they've been teaching more or less the same way for several semesters. Its a course that may just feel a bit tired to the teacher and to students. That course will be the focus of a set of week-long activities designed to reinvigorate and rejuvenate content and student engagement. Each participant will plan to adapt several new instructional approaches, at least one new assignment and construct an updated version of the course syllabus. For more information about the course go to Summer Institute 2017."
