The need for blood never takes a vacation.
While the need for blood remains constant during the summer, donations drop. Donors of all blood types are currently needed, especially those with type O negative, B negative and A negative.
On Tuesday, July 29 the New York Blood Center will conduct a blood drive in the Great Room of Kaplan Hall on the Newburgh campus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Wellness Center encourages eligible blood donors to make and keep donation appointments to maintain the summer blood supply and help prevent a shortage.
To schedule an appointment call (845) 341-4870. Not sure? Walk-ins are always welcome.
If you have any questions about eligibility to donate due to travel outside the U.S., medications or medical conditions, please call 1-800-688-0900.
