The Center for Teaching and Learning will offer an Adventures in Publishing session on Wednesday April 2 from Noon to 1 p.m. on the Newburgh Campus in Kaplan Hall Room 203.
The Adventures in Publishing presentation is geared towards those looking to learn the ins and outs of publishing a novel, poetry, memoir or other document. This session will cover various topics, including: the creation of the manuscript, securing representation through an agent, navigating rejection letters from publishers, and the pros and cons of exploring the independent route versus traditional publishing. The discussion will also cover the changes in the publishing industry over the last ten years, including electronic publishing and the trend toward independent publishing and its growing acceptance among readers.
This session will be hosted by Marianne Sciucco, a SUNY Orange employee, who has recently published her own book, "Blue Hydrangeas."
Please register for this session at the Professional Development Events Page.
