Applications being accepted for CSTEP

Applications are now being accepted for the CSTEP program at SUNY Orange!

The Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) is designed to increase the number of students from under-represented groups who are pursuing professional licensure and careers in mathematics, science, technology and health-related fields.

Opportunities Provided: 

  • Instructional support in key courses
  • Special access to research and internship programs
  • Attending professional development workshops
  • Academic enrichment: tutoring, counseling, special classes, review for licensure exams, career and transfer exploration

This is a program of academic support and enrichment for students intending to major in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields and certain majors leading to the licensed professions. The CSTEP program can give you the edge you need to succeed at SUNY Orange and beyond. 


  • Full time SUNY Orange Student
  • New York State resident who is either a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Be a member of a historically underrepresented  minority in the sciences (African-American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaska native)  and/or a person who qualifies as economically disadvantaged in New York state based on family income/size.
  • Be matriculated in one of the STEM fields or one of the following programs: Accounting (ACC), Architecture (ARC), Business (BUS), Computer Information Technology (CIT), Cyber Security (CYB), Criminal Justice (CRJ), Dental Hygiene (DNT), Education (EDU), Engineering (ENG), Exercise Studies (EXER), Human Services (HUM), Jointly Registered Teacher Education Program (JRTEP), Pre Health Professions (LASMS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Nursing (NUR), Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), or Radiologic Technology (RAD).
  • Minimum GPA 2.0.

You will be notified of your acceptance by Monday, December 7th. Programming will begin in the Spring 2021 semester.
