College to Change Internet Service Provider

Starting this month, we will be changing our Internet service provider from Frontier to Crown Castle. This will allow the College to save money while providing Internet service with more bandwidth.

While this change is taking place, we will be working on the firewall and our Domain Name Systems (DNS). All of our outside services will need to be given new IP addresses and we will have to update our DNS records to point to the new addresses. In the coming weeks, we will provide the dates that services will be updated as we complete the plan for this project.  We wanted to make you aware that this change is coming so that you can prepare appropriately.

What this means to you is that there will be a date where things such as MySUNYOrange will be offline while the IP address and DNS records are updated. Please keep an eye on the Grapevine so that you will know when these changes are happening and can plan accordingly.  If at any time during the process, you are made aware that a service is not responding appropriately, please report it to the Help Desk.
