A Unique Leadership Opprtunity Available

This year marks the fourth year of our emerging leadership training program for students at SUNY Orange. "I Am A Leader" is designed to expand the definition of what many of us consider to be a leader. With a focus on students understanding themselves and how they relate to others, the program seeks to help students define themselves as leaders and develop the key skills that will help them succeed in their academic, professional and personal lives.

"I Am A Leader" offers a series of six interactive and engaging workshops led by an outstanding group of facilitators.  The workshops will be held once a month throughout the fall and spring semesters.  A copy of the program brochure is attached to this message.  Students may register to attend any of the workshops in the series, but those who participate in all six workshops and meet the program requirements will receive special recognition at the College's annual spring Awards Convocation and will have their accomplishment added to their permanent record where it may be shared with other institutions and future employers.

Students can sign up for any of the workshops in the series at the Center for Student Involvement on either the Middletown or Newburgh Campus.  Space in each workshop is limited and students who wish to complete the entire program should be sure to sign up for all sessions to avoid being closed out.  The first workshop will be held on October 12.

If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact Steve Harpst, Director of the Center for Student Involvement, at 845-341-4230 or or visit our web site at
