Upcoming Facilities Maintenance and Repair Projects on the Middletown Campus

College community

Following is an update of the ongoing summer projects on the Middletown campus:

Bio-Tech/Morrison Parking Lot: the guardrail between parking lot 5 (the main lot across from Bio-Tech/ Morrison Hall) and parking lot 12 (the faculty/staff lot adjacent to the Christine Morrison House) will be installed on Friday July 28, weather permitting.

Tennis Court Drive Speed Bumps: Tennis Court Drive will be closed on Friday, July 28 to install speed bumps. The entrance of Tennis Court Drive will be open to allow parents to drop off and pick up children from the Morrison Lab School. Since Tennis Court Drive will be closed just beyond that point, Lab School visitors will need to exit back onto South Street.

Morrison Hall Heat Pumps: New heat pumps will be installed in the following rooms in Morrison Hall beginning July 27: room 112 on July 27; room 114 on July 28; basement room 5 on July 29; room 210 on August 1; room 213 on August 2; room 308 on August 3; room 307 on August 4; room 204 on August 5; room 401 on August 8; and the 4th floor hall unit will be replaced on August 9.

As future heat pump units are delivered, I will reach out to the appropriate room occupants to ensure that the installations are completed as conveniently as possible. This project will continue through mid-September.

IT Office air conditioning unit and condenser replacement: Replacement of the a/c unit in the IT Office in the Bio-Tech Building, as well as the corresponding rooftop condenser, will begin on Thursday, July 27. There will be a crane set up in the Bio-Tech roadway on Friday, July 28 to lift the new condenser on to the roof. Most of this work will be completed by Saturday evening.
