Agenda and Information for Aug. 24 Assembly Meeting

Welcome back for the 2016-2017 academic year. I hope your summer went well. Attached is the Agenda for our initial College Assembly to be held Wednesday August 24 at 9 AM in Harriman 111.

A continental breakfast is provided. We'll begin serving at 8:30 a.m., with the meeting to follow, and a series of workshops (sponsored by Academic Affairs) after Open Forum. We will also hold a Governance Leadership training session beginning at 12:15 p.m. for standing committee chairs. That meeting is in the Gilman Center of the Library.

If you would like to submit an announcement for our "Scrolling Announcements" which will appear from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at the meeting, please email it to Paul Basinski no later that Monday Aug. 22. Please keep it to one slide.

Also, at both the Newburgh and Middletown Assembly sites, professors Alex Jakubowski and Amanda Crowell will once again be sponsoring a food drive. Please bring canned or packaged food products, even pet food, that will be donated to the appropriate sites.

I'm looking forward to serving as your Governance President for the next three years. As I've noted to many of you, shared governance, as the name implies, is a joint venture. I welcome any germane comments, concerns or suggestions in Assembly--or however you prefer to communicate with me--in the coming months. I look forward to working with the numerous constituencies which make up governance to advance the mission of SUNY Orange. Off we go!
