Darlene Benzenberg Named College's New Registrar

SUNY Orange President Dr. Kristine Young announces the hiring of Darlene Benzenberg as the College’s new Registrar.

With more than 15 years of registration experience for both two-year and four-year educational institutions, Darlene spent the past four years as associate university registrar for Rutgers University-Newark. During that same time, she was also the registrar for the university’s School of Public Health.

At SUNY Orange, Darlene will direct a staff that expedites the transition of students from initial enrollment to degree completion while ensuring adherence to academic policy, preserving academic integrity, safeguarding academic records, and providing accessible and reliable administrative services.

Working with other departments at the College, the Registrar’s Office facilitates students registration, coordinates the academic calendar, develops course schedules, creates final examination schedules, monitors student grades, and maintains student records and transcripts.

Prior to her time at Rutgers-Newark, Darlene spent five years as registrar at Mount Saint Mary College (2006-11) and six years as coordinator of registration services at SUNY Sullivan. She also has spent time as a software consultant and information technology assistant.

Darlene acquired an associate’s degree from SUNY Sullivan prior to earning her bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and communication from Marist College.
