My Travels - from Europe to the United States

Join us between 2 and 3:15pm on Monday, September 17, 2018 for a tour in the Mindy Ross Gallery of My Travels - from Europe to the United States, the solo exhibit by adjunct assistant professor Maggie Oakes. During the tour in the gallery, Oakes will explain her works and the printmaking processes and materials. Her creative process includes many techniques and media. “I create intaglio plates using techniques such as: etching, aquatint, mezzotint and electro-etching. I also work with photolithography, silkscreen, relief processes, embossment and Chine-collé,” states Oakes.

An afternoon reception is part of the event at the gallery.

This event as well as the exhibit are free and open to the public.

 

Malgorzata Latos-Oakes graduated from Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art & Design in Wroc?aw, Poland with an MFA in Printmaking. Oakes is an adjunct assistant professor at SUNY Orange and an adjunct professor at SUNY New Paltz, serving as an instructional support technician in the printmaking studio. She is a mentor and advocate for students.
