Student Emergency Fund Application Available

Applications for the Student Emergency Loan Fund are now available.

If you are a degree-seeking student in good academic standing who is attending at least part-time and experiencing an emergency situation that may derail your education, you are eligible to apply.

Emergency aid will be considered for students facing an unforeseen event or an unexpected need for aid such as homelessness or threat of eviction, a medical emergency, natural disaster, domestic violence, theft, or loss of employment. Examples of eligible expenses include rent, utilities, clothing, furniture, medical expenses, back-up child care, back-up transportation, and replacement of stolen items needed for school.

Please keep in mind that awards from this emergency aid fund will not be paid to the College to settle your account, but instead will be distributed to your landlord, daycare provider, service provider, vendor or community agency/organization, as necessary.

To apply go to www.sef.suny.edu and click on the SUNY Orange logo.  Once your application is received, a meeting with the VP for Student Services will be scheduled.

This grant is funded through the generous support of the Gerstner Family Foundation, the Heckscher Foundation for Children and the SUNY Impact Foundation.
