return to main SUNY Orange
featuring historic Morrison Hall

Original furnishings included a small gold marble top table, English designed brass fire screen, gold reception chairs and an Aubusson rug. The table and needlepoint fire screen (done by Mrs. Clifford Morrison) were donated to the college by Mrs. Morrison in 1995. Also donated by Mrs. Morrison in 1998 is a floral arrangement she created from seashells that had been gathered over a 20-year period from travels she and her late husband, Eugene, had made around the world.

Morrison Hall
Salon and Music Room

To the left of the front entrance is the Salon, a room used as a reception room for important guests and visitors. Ornate plaster wall panels, white marble hearth with gold veining, and the elegant lighting fixtures distinguish this room. The lattice-patterned parquet floor is original to the house.

A muraled ceilings depicting cherubs and maidens with Venus was painted by W. Dodge, an internationally-known, award-winning painter.
