Cold War Veterans: Property Tax Exemptions
Cold War Veterans are defined as anyone who served honorably in the United States Armed forces between September 2, 1945 and December 26, 1991. Under this law, localities have the option to grant either a 10% or 15% real property tax exemption to Cold War Veterans starting 1/3/2008.

Orange County Veterans F.A.V.O.R. program
A wide range of Orange County stores and businesses have signed up to offer discounts on their products and services to Veterans who show the Orange County Veterans Discount Card.
Veterans can get this card by bringing proof of military service and Orange County residency to the County Clerk s office at the Parry Building at Valley View, 4 Glenmere Cove Road; Goshen, NY. Telephone (845)291-3060, Monday through Friday between 9am-5pm. A photo ID will be issued to the Veteran with an updated list of participating vendors where the Veteran can present the card for a discount.
Widows and widowers of Veterans are also eligible if they provide a death certificate along with proof of the decedent s military service.

Neighborhood Health Centers
These centers are NOT regulated by or affiliated with the County Health Department. If you or a family member has lost your job, health insurance, or have had a significant reduction in income, you can explore the use of these Neighborhood Health Centers for healthcare services. These centers typically offer a wide range of services on a sliding payment scale, and are prepared to provide services to individuals without health insurance.
