SUNY Orange Accuplacer Placement Test

The SUNY Orange Accuplacer placement test is administered to all incoming students to ensure academic success in English and mathematics, as these courses are fundamental to every program offered at SUNY Orange.

New Students

If you are an incoming student and have never taken the placement test or if you have only taken a portion(s) of the test and need to take the remaining portion(s), please Sign Up Here.

Students with documented disabilities should contact the Office of Accessibility Services for possible testing accommodations.

Returning Students

Have you tested before and taken courses at SUNY Orange? If yes, your scores remain valid and you can continue to take courses from where you left off.

Have you tested before but not taken courses at SUNY Orange? If yes, your scores will be valid for two years from the date of your test. After that point, your scores will be removed from our system, and you will need to take the placement test again before being able to register for courses.

Retaking the Placement Test

The placement test may only be retaken in unique, extenuating circumstances. Materials provided to students prior to testing clearly indicate that students may only test once, should take the test seriously, and should not take the test if they feel unwell or are otherwise unprepared. All requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

With the exception of the Ability to Benefit (ATB) test, returning students are NOT permitted to retest.

If you would like to retake the Ability to Benefit (ATB) test or if you are an incoming student and would to be considered for a retest, please complete a Retest Request Form.

You will be notified via email of the outcome of your request. If approved, you may then sign up for a placement test. Do not sign up for a placement test until your request has been officially approved.
