As you start your first week of 
classes, you are almost certain to have 
more questions arise. First Week 
programs are designed to help you 
become more familiar with the 
people who can help you find the 

answers.

During First Week, 

you will see many 

faculty, staff and 

administration 

wearing buttons that 

say “Here To Help.” That 
is a sign to you that this person is 
willing to help with any question or 
problem you might have from finding 
the right building to finding your 
advisor. If they don’t know the 
answer to your question, they will 
make sure to put you in touch with 
someone who does. 

Watch for these people as well as 
other special First Week programs.

WELCOME TO SUNY ORANGE! 

We are a community of learners dedicated to reaching out to all citizens of Orange County to enrich their lives 
through the highest-quality education possible. 


We in the SUNY Orange community are 
looking forward to your joining us in the fall to 
begin your academic career. 

To get your college career started on the right 
foot, we offer three New Student Orientation 
sessions. These sessions are designed to 
introduce you to the faculty, staff, programs 
and services that are available to you as a 
SUNY Orange student. They also allow you to 
meet and get to know some of your fellow 
students. Everyone brings their own unique 
abilities and experiences to our community, 
and we encourage you to learn from each other 
and allow others to learn from you. 

Don’t miss this important opportunity and 
first step in making your academic career a 
successful one. We all look forward to seeing 
you in August. 

Parents and Family Orientation 

What will the college experience be like for 
my student? What changes should I expect 
from them? How can I help them to succeed? 
These are questions many family members ask 
themselves when they have a student start 
college. 

Our Parents and Family Orientation Program 
will help to answer your questions and give you 
an idea of what it’s like to be a student at 
SUNY Orange. Our panel will share 
information and resources and our student 
leaders will share their experiences with you. 

We look forward to you joining us during 
one of our two sessions on August 19 or 21. 
When your student calls us to make his or her 
reservation, just have them let us know that you 
will also be coming. We hope to see you there!
