PBIE Minutes    Thursday,  November 18, 2010

Present: Michelle Tubbs (Chair), Cory Harris (Vice-Chair), Amanda Stiebel, Abdel Farah, Debbie Horowitz, Josephine Vondras, Ming Wang, Kathy Zurilla, Mike Roe, Cynthia Richichi, Christine Work, Beverley Marchesani.

1. The minutes of 10/28 and 11/11 meetings with the VPs were approved by vote, with additions to the attendance for 11/11.

2. De-brief of last week’s meeting with VPs.:  Members discussed the fact that the use of the PIP system is still not fully understood by everyone.  Clarifications are needed on these issues:
 
-PIP items should be items not able to be funded in the normal operating budget for that department
-Personnel requests should not be submitted to the prioritization part of the PIP system
- The PIP system should be utilized more effectively for prioritization

Christine Work pointed out that changes being made to the system by IT should be instrumental in assisting users to more fully understand and utilize the prioritization features of the PIP system. 

Initiatives 1-20 were discussed and voted on for recommendation to Cabinet.  Results of voting are recorded in separate document.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m. by Chair, Michelle Tubbs.

The committee will reconvene on Thursday December 2, 2010 to complete voting on the remaining initiatives for the committee’s recommendation to Cabinet.  The final meeting for ranking the approved initiatives will be on December 9, 2010.
