Saturday Evening Performance at Paramount Theater to Feature Music by Galante, Bass and Smith

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – The SUNY Orange Symphonic Band will offer a “Festival at the Falls” theme for its annual holiday concert slated for 7:30 p.m, Saturday, Dec. 8 at Middletown’s Paramount Theater.

The band will perform “The Falls” by Rossano Galante, “Gloria” by Randol Alan Bass, and Robert W. Smith’s “Great Locomotive Chase.” During its performance of “Sweet Trombone Rag,” the band will highlight its trombone section comprised of George Kister, Brian Ackley, Helen Belles, Abby Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Joe Bucci in the “Sweet Trombone Rag”.

The evening program will also include selections by James Curnow, Joe Martellaro, and Chip Davis.

The SUNY Orange Symphonic Band, under Martellaro’s direction, is comprised of students, music teachers and members of the community. The Paramount Theatre, located at 17 South St., is universally accessible. General admission tickets are $10, with active duty military personnel, children under age 12 and SUNY Orange students with valid college ID admitted for free. Senior citizens, ages 60 years and older, and all other students with ID will be charged $5.
