Variety of Selections on the Program When the Ensemble Takes to the Paramount Theatre Stage

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – Flute soloists Laura Martellaro, Judy Bracco, Holly Dunn and Kerry Maloney will perform an arrangement of Euday Bowman’s “12th Street Rag,” written by band conductor Joe Martellaro, when the SUNY Orange Symphonic Band holds its winter concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Paramount Theatre.

The four soloists are all members of the Symphonic Band, which blends the musical talents of SUNY Orange students and members of the community, all under the direction of Joe Martellaro.

The remainder of the evening program will include “Poet and the Peasant” by Franz von Suppe, “Fate of the Gods” by Steven Reineke, “Take Off” by Daniel Weinberger, “Carol of the Bells” by Andrew Wainwright, and “Prairie Dances” by David Holsinger. Selections from the musicals “Hairspray” and “West Side Story” are also on the playlist.

General admission is $10. SUNY Orange Students with a current ID, active military personnel and students under 12 years of age will be admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.middletownparamount.com.

The concert is sponsored by the College’s Arts and Communication Department. The Paramount Theatre, located at 17 South St. in Middletown, is universally accessible.
