SUNY ORANGE CHAMBER ENSEMBLE TO PLAY MORRISON HALL MAY 1

Works by JC Bach, Purcell, Haydn, Beethoven and Others to be Featured in Morrison Hall

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- The SUNY Orange Chamber Ensemble will provide an afternoon of classical chamber music at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 1 in Morrison Hall on the College’s Middletown campus.

The afternoon program will feature works by Johann Christian Bach, Henry Purcell, Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven and others. Admission is free. The Chamber Ensemble is under the direction of Hilarie Clark Moore.

The program will begin with the quintet of Anita Dyman (violin), Autumn Mason (violin), Matthew Tymczyszyn (viola), Alyssa Sollazo (cello) and Milan Hanley-Rhone (bass) performing Bach’s “Andante from Symphony, Op. 3, No. 6” and four pieces from the music of Purcell’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Donna Lavins (flute), Joanna Simon (oboe) and Lara Patel (bassoon) will unite to perform Haydn’s “Londoner Trio Nr. 1” and William Boyce’s “Trio Sonata Nr. 8 in E flat.”

Dan Teare (flute), Joel Simon (oboe), Allan Plumb (clarinet) and Ryan Cerullo (bassoon) will follow with Karl Goepfart’s “Quartet, Op. 93,” Scott Joplin’s “The Ragtime Dance” and five selections from Robert Schumann’s “Album für die Jugend, Op. 68” arranged by Michael Rondeau: “Armes Walsenkind (Poor Orphan),” “Jägerliedchen (Hunting Song),” “Wilder Reiter (Wild Rider),” “Volksliedchen (Folksong)” and “Frohlicher Landmann (The Happy Farmer).”

The afternoon will conclude with Dan Waldvogel (violin), Cassie Kochem (cello) and Kaylee Morales (piano) performing Beethoven’s “Trio for Piano, Violin, and Cello, Op. 97.”
