Local Health and Wellness Providers and Agencies to be Represented

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- Representatives from more than 40 health-related and community service agencies from throughout the Hudson Valley will be available to provide information and health screenings during SUNY Orange’s 22nd annual Wellness Fair scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, in the Fireplace Lounge of the George F. Shepard Student Center in Middletown.

Coordinated by the College’s Wellness Center, the Wellness Fair is open to students, faculty, staff and community members and will emphasize wellness for the mind, body and spirit. Throughout the event, attendees may take advantage of free, confidential and anonymous HIV Quick Tests, with results available in less than 20 minutes. Free healthy heart screenings and hearing screenings will be offered as well.

Among those agencies and organizations expected to be on hand are: Orange County Department of Health, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Mental Health Association of Orange County, Inc., Orange Regional Medical Center, Planned Parenthood, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council, Maternal Infant Services Network, and a number of low-cost health insurance providers.
