Annual ESATYCB Conference to Unite Biology Instructors and Experts from Across New York State

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- Nationally recognized biology instructors and experts from across New York State will converge upon SUNY Orange’s new Rowley Center for Science and Engineering when the College hosts the 34th annual conference of the Empire State Association of Two-Year College Biologists (ESATYCB) from April 15-17.

The conference will focus on “Making Biology Relevant to Our Students: Techniques for Engagement” and local biology educators from middle schools, high schools, and two- and four-year colleges are encouraged to attend.

The ESATYCB represents biology faculty from 34 two-year college campuses across New York State. The mission of the ESATYCB is to foster excellence in biology education. The annual ESATYCB conference is an excellent opportunity for biology teachers to gather and discuss current developments in teaching and biological research. This year marks the first time that SUNY Orange has hosted the statewide event.

A full description of the 3-day event and registration forms are available on the ESATYCB website or by contacting SUNY Orange biology professor Dr. Jennifer Merriam at (845) 341-4178.

The conference is being supported by the SUNY Orange Foundation, Nobelstream, Pearson Publishing, the SUNY Orange Biology Department, VWR Science Supply, SimBio and MiniPCR.
