SUNY ORANGE ANNOUNCES FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOPS FOR MARCH

3/7/2016

Sessions Open to SUNY Orange Students and Their Families, as well as to Members of the Community

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- To assist families in navigating the higher education financial aid process, SUNY Orange will host three Financial Aid workshops in March with two sessions planned for the Middletown campus and one event slated for the Newburgh campus.

Attendees will receive assistance in filing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Workshops are open to SUNY Orange students and their families, as well as members of the community.

Middletown workshops will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays on March 16 and 30. The Newburgh session will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.

All workshops will start promptly at 5 p.m. and may last up to two hours. There is no guarantee of admittance if attendees arrive late. In order to complete the FAFSA, attendees will need to bring photocopies of their 2015 Federal Income Tax returns (and their parents’ 2015 Federal Income Tax returns), W-2’s and any other taxed or untaxed documentation for 2015.

All students must create an FSA identification at www.fafsa.ed.gov or www.fsaid.ed.gov. For those students who are dependents, a parent must also create an FSA identification. For dependent students under the age of 24, it is imperative that the student and a parent be present at the workshop to complete the FAFSA process.
