Detective Michael Pitt and Officer Nicholas Cardinale Issued Certificates for Service to Community and College

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – SUNY Orange has issued certificates of appreciation to two City of Newburgh Police Department officers for their service to the community and the College.

For the past several years, Detective Michael Pitt (at right in photo bottom right) and Officer Nicholas Cardinale (at right in photo bottom left) have attended Instructor Michelle Young’s Substance Abuse and Health class at the Newburgh campus to provide students with information on narcotics and alcohol, as well as other topics related to dependency and substance abuse.

During their most recent visit on May 5 to demonstrate alcohol impairment goggles and to explain how Narcan helps police treat overdoses, Young presented each of the officers with a certificate “in appreciation of his unparalleled commitment to the community, his dedication to those he serves and his continued educational outreach to the students of SUNY Orange.”
