Group will Perform Music of Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Pergolesi and Boccherini in Morrison Hall

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- The SUNY Orange Chamber Ensemble will showcase works by several of music’s most noted composers, including Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven, when it hosts its annual Spring concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26 in Morrison Hall on the College’s Middletown campus.

Comprised of SUNY Orange students and members of the community, the Chamber Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Hilarie Clark Moore. Admission is free.

The concert will open with the vivace from Bach’s “Trio Sonata in G Major, followed by G.B. Pergolessi’s “Sonata No. 3” featuring the woodwind trio of Jessica Stokes (flute), Joanna Simon (oboe) and Lara Patel (bassoon). Theodora Horowitz (first violin), Anita Dyman (second violin) and Alyssa Sollazzo (cello) will perform the allegro molto from Luigi Boccherini’s “Trio No. 1, Op. 9.”

A pair of Beethoven compositions will follow, with Horowitz, Dyman and Sollazzo being joined by Matthew Tymczszyna (viola), Brianna Reed (horn) and Barbara Sardone (horn) for the “Sextet in E-flat Major, Op. 81b”. Lola Riddick (flute), Joel Simon (oboe) and Allan Plumb (clarinet) will play “Trio, Op. 87.”

The afternoon will conclude with movements from Franz Schubert’s “Quintet, Op. 114 (Trout)” featuring Dan Waldvogel (violin), Brittany Robinson (viola), Cassie Kochem (cello), Analise Reed (bass) and Amy Baglione (piano).
