Ensemble of Community Members and SUNY Orange Students to Appear at Paramount Theatre

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- The SUNY Orange Community Orchestra will offer a program of music from the Romantic and Classical periods, with a hint of the Renaissance, when it opens its 2014-15 season with a 7:30 p.m. concert on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Middletown’s Paramount Theatre.

Embarking upon its 18th season under the direction of conductor Hilarie Clark Moore, the orchestra will present selections from Romantic composers Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Anatoly Liadov and Ottorino Resphighi, along with Classical composer Wolfgang Mozart.

The program will include: the overture from Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro,” Suite No. 1 from Resphighi’s “Antiche Danze ed Arie per Liuto,” Liadov’s “Baba Yaga, Op. 56,” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 4 in F Minor, Op. 36.”

The SUNY Orange Community Orchestra is comprised of students and members of the community.

The concert is sponsored by the College’s Arts and Communication Department. General admission is $10. SUNY Orange Students with a current ID and active military personnel will be admitted free.
