Saturday Morning Program, Set for Nov. 9, will Feature Admissions, Academic Programs, Student Activities

NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- SUNY Orange will showcase its Newburgh campus, academic programs and student support services from 9 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, Nov. 9 during its annual Fall Admissions Open House in the Great Room of Kaplan Hall, located at the intersection of Grand and First streets.

This fall’s event will feature a new Saturday morning format as the College seeks to accommodate the busy schedules of prospective students and their parents. Traditionally the event has been held during a weeknight.

High school students, adults looking to return to the classroom and any other interested prospective students are encouraged to visit the Open House to gather information about the College’s many academic programs, as well as transfer and career possibilities students enjoy following graduation from SUNY Orange. Financial aid, scholarship guidelines and admissions information will be provided as well.

Attendees can learn about any of the nearly 40 academic majors SUNY Orange offers, including the seven full degree programs available entirely on the Newburgh campus. The College boasts one of the finest student transfer success rates in the State University of New York system and provides diverse educational opportunities to help students meet their goals. SUNY Orange is also a member of the Hudson Valley Educational Consortium, which allows the College to bring emergency responder and innovative technology programs from other community colleges in the region to the campuses of SUNY Orange.

Students at SUNY Orange also enjoy many extra-curricular endeavors, and College representatives will have information regarding many of the programs, clubs and organizations available for students. SUNY Orange also operates a challenging academic Honors Program for highly motivated and talented students.

Tours of the College’s Newburgh campus will be provided throughout the morning and light refreshments will be available. Parking is available in the Kaplan Hall parking garage, which is accessible via First Street across from Ebenezer Baptist Church.
