Events for Children and Adults Planned; Tours and Admissions Information to be Offered

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- SUNY Orange will host a fun-filled Family Day from Noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 on the Alumni Green of the College’s Middletown campus, with an array of family friendly events and activities scheduled.

Family Day will be part of the College’s Homecoming and Hall of Fame Weekend. Also slated that weekend are a reunion cocktail reception on Friday evening (Oct. 25) and the Colt Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Alumni and community members are invited to attend Family Day, and admission will be free. Student groups will be providing demonstrations and hosting additional activities for children, including face painting, sports clinics, games and contests. There will be games and contests for the adults as well.

Visitors will be able to take self-guided tours of Morrison Hall, the stately century old mansion that once served as the Morrison family home before Christine Morrison donated the estate to Orange County to create the College. There will be student-led tours of the campus at 12:15, 1:15 and 2:15 p.m. The recently constructed Morrison Lab School childcare facility will be open for tours and will feature a children’s obstacle course.

The SUNY Orange Alumni Relations staff and volunteers will be providing cider and donuts during registration, which will be held at Morrison Hall.

The College will waive the application fee for any students who apply to SUNY Orange during Family Day, and the Admissions staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to prospective students.

For more information on any of the weekend’s activities, contact Mary Roth, alumni relations coordinator, at (845) 341-4179.
