Events Slated for April 6 in Newburgh and April 13 in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – SUNY Orange will hold a pair of open houses in early April to showcase the childcare facilities on its Newburgh and Middletown campuses. The events are planned from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 6 on the Newburgh campus and during those same hours on Saturday, April 13 at the Middletown campus.

The College offers licensed daycare, certified by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, for children ranging in age from infants (8 weeks) through pre-school (age 5). It’s Newburgh facility is located in the Tower Building at the corner of Broadway and Colden Street. The Middletown site is housed in the Morrison Lab School, located along South Street at the campus’ western edge. Both facilities were opened this past summer.

Childcare services are available on a priority basis to children of SUNY Orange students, faculty and staff of the College. As space permits, community members may also enroll their children.

Children will be immersed in programming that abides by an “educational/exploratory play” philosophy and offers a combination of child-centered and teacher-directed activities. Flexible morning and afternoon scheduling is available.
Both facilities participate in the CACFP Food program, which offers free or reduced meals.

Universal Pre-K programming is available at both locations, in conjunction with the school districts of Middletown and Newburgh.

During the open houses, Lab School staff will give tours of the facilities, discuss programming and answer parent questions. For more information, contact Nadine Girardi at (845) 341-4165.
