Admissions Staff to be Joined by Faculty and Staff to Offer Insight to Prospective Students and Families

PHOTO: 2012 Spring Open House in NewburghMIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – SUNY Orange’s growing Newburgh campus will be on full display for prospective students and their parents during the College’s annual Fall Admissions Open House at Newburgh from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the Great Room of Kaplan Hall.

High school students, adults looking to return to the classroom and any other interested prospective students are encouraged to visit the Open House to gather information about the College’s many academic programs, as well as transfer and career possibilities students enjoy following graduation from SUNY Orange.

The College administers more than 40 academic majors, boasts the finest community college student transfer success rate in the State University of New York system and provides diverse educational opportunities to help students meet their goals. Faculty and staff members will be on hand to discuss the College’s array of degree programs, with specific emphasis on the seven academic programs SUNY Orange presently offers entirely at the Newburgh campus. Financial aid, scholarship guidelines and admissions information will be provided as well.

Students at SUNY Orange enjoy many extra-curricular endeavors, and athletics and student activities representatives will have information regarding many of the sports programs, clubs and organizations at the College. SUNY Orange also operates a challenging academic Honors Program for highly motivated and talented students, and enjoys membership in the Hudson Valley Educational Consortium, which affords SUNY Orange students the chance to complete first responder and sustainability-related degree programs offered by either SUNY Ulster, SUNY Rockland or SUNY Sullivan.

Tours of the Newburgh campus will be provided and light refreshments will be available adjacent to the Great Room. Kaplan Hall is located at the intersection of Grand and First streets in Newburgh, with ample parking available in the building’s parking garage (enter off of First Street).
