Donation of $10,000 Sets Groundwork for Endowed Scholarship for Women Residents of Orange County

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- In celebration of the four women--Kelly M. Williams, Kathy Frommer, Vera M. Best and Kim Marie Boylan--who last week received the SUNY Orange Foundation’s 2012 Leadership Awards, Frontier Communications has donated $10,000 to the College to establish the Frontier Women of Achievement Scholarship for women residents of Orange County to attend SUNY Orange.

In order to be eligible students must meet SUNY Orange scholarship guidelines. Earlier this year, Frommer and her parents established two new SUNY Orange scholarships for entering students who are graduates of Valley Central and Pine Bush high schools.

The Foundation presented its annual awards last Thursday (Sept. 27) to the four successful women, each of whom has ties to Newburgh: Williams, managing director and global head of the Customized Fund Investment Group for Credit Suisse, New York, N.Y., Leadership in Business award; Frommer, retired founder and president of CRS Retail Systems, Newburgh, Leadership in Community; Best, founder and president of Best Resource Center, Newburgh, Leadership in Education; and Boylan ’79, senior tax partner at the law firm of White & Case LLP, Washington, D.C., Alumni Leadership.
