MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – SUNY Orange’s Continuing Education department will offer ongoing free Job Search Networking Group meetings, for downsized higher level workers, in both Newburgh and Middletown beginning the week of March 7.

The Newburgh meetings will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. each Monday in Room 112 of the College’s new Kaplan Hall, located at the intersection of Grand and First streets. Middletown sessions will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Tuesday at Orange Works, 33 Fulton St. Funding for the meetings has been provided by the Orange County Employment and Training Administration.

Attendees will be introduced to proven job search strategies that they can implement regardless of their background, education or job preference. They will also learn how to minimize their feelings of isolation while also gaining support from fellow job seekers. A facilitator will guide the workshops, directing group and individual exercises aimed at helping participants uncover or rediscover those talents they can market to potential employers.

During past job search networking group programs run by SUNY Orange, approximately 60 percent of the participants have returned to the workforce.
