JAZZ ENSEMBLE TO APPEAR IN ORANGE HALL THEATRE DEC. 4

An Evening of Jazz Classics is Planned

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – The SUNY Orange Jazz Ensemble will perform an evening of jazz classics beginning at 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4 in the College’s Orange Hall Theatre. Admission is free.

Under the direction of Dave Miele, the ensemble will deliver a program featuring Duke Ellington’s “C Jam Blues” and “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” Charles Mingus’ “Nostalgia in Times Square,” Herbie Hancock’s “Canteloupe Island,” Nat Adderly’s “Work Song,” Miles Davis’ “Freddie Freeloader” and “Four,” Oliver Nelson’s “Stolen Moments,” Bobby Timmons’ “Moanin’” and Sonny Rollins’ “Sonnymoon for Two.”

The ensemble is comprised of Mary Serten, alto saxophone; Owen Goodman, cello; Alex Peccolo, vocals; Aric Werner, guitar; Michael Sutton and Matthew Barnes, bass; David Gustafson, piano; and Isaiah Violante, Robert Harley and Joshua Word, drums.
