Visitors to Morrison Hall those four days will be able to view the mansion’s five first-floor rooms awash in decorations under the theme of “Happy Holidays.” The Holiday Open House will run from 1 to 5 p.m. on each day. Admission is free. The SUNY Orange Madrigal Singers will perform songs of the season in the mansion’s Music Room at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, while the Chamber Ensemble will perform in the Music Room at 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12.

Last year’s “Victorian Visions” theme earned the Garden Lovers a first place citation in the National Historic Preservation Holiday Decorations Award program presented by the National Garden Clubs.

Donations will be accepted for the Peter Alberghini Inspirational Scholarship. Alberghini, a long-time SUNY Orange employee and advocate for Orange County residents through education, civic work and mental health programs, originated the Holiday Open House as a way for the local community to enjoy Morrison Hall.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase a set of 10 note cards featuring photos of last year’s Open House decorations. The set will sell for $18. Clear candy jars with the Orange County Community College seal on the side ($10), and navy blue golf shirts with the SUNY Orange Colts logo ($15) are also available. Additionally, a supply of limited edition Morrison Hall holiday ornaments will be available for $25 each. The ornament, which features a three-dimensional image of the College’s historic mansion etched in brass and green enamel, comes with a hanging cord and is packaged in a decorative gift box.

These fours items can also be purchased on-line through the Holiday Sale website.

The Holiday Open House is jointly sponsored by the College, the SUNY Orange Foundation and the Garden Lovers.
