Two Performances of Children’s Play Slated for College’s Orange Hall Theatre

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – SUNY Orange’s student theater group The Apprentice Players will be performing two general admission shows of the children’s play "Pinkalicious" on Saturday, April 10 at the College’s Orange Hall Theatre.

"Pinkalicious" is based upon the children’s book of the same name written by Elizabeth Kahn and Victoria Kahn, and chronicles the exploits of a young girl who loves everything pink. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor’s office with "pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe—a dream come true for this pink-loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this pink predicament.

Show times on April 10 are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Apprentice Players will also conduct four additional closed performances for local elementary school classes from April 12-15.

Lauren Byrne (Wurtsboro, N.Y.) will play the lead as Pinkalicious. Rachel Webb (Port Jervis, N.Y.) and A.J. Hankins (Port Jervis, N.Y.) will play Pinkalicious’ parents Mrs. and Mr. Pinkerton, respectively, while Lara Schaffer (Goshen, N.Y.) will portray her best friend Allison. Shawn Schorno (Newburgh, N.Y.) will play Pinkalicious’ brother Peter and Allie Dethmers (Warwick, N.Y.) will be Dr. Wink.
