New Lab/Classroom in Bio-Tech 251 Gives Students "Home", Chance to Enhance Classroom Instruction and Student Preparation

Located in Room 251 of the College’s Bio-Tech Building, the laboratory is split evenly between an early childhood development lab and a high-tech learning center. Both will greatly augment the coursework of students in the College’s education degree (teaching preparation) and certificate programs by allowing them to work interactively with each other, as well as with children from the College’s KinderCollege daycare center.

The early childhood development area includes toys, equipment and instructional materials that will assist SUNY Orange students in preparing to teach youngsters from infants to early elementary school-age. The high-tech learning center features the tools of today’s teachers: a SmartBoard, document camera, three computers and a wireless airliner pad.

A portion of the room was funded by a Career and Technical Education Assistance (CTEA) grant.
