MIDDLETOWN -- The Hudson Valley Educational Consortium (HVEC) is offering a seminar on “Pandemic Flu Emergency Planning for Senior Managers” on Friday, Feb. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The seminar, which will be presented by Dr. Marc K. Siegel, is designed to provide senior managers with an understanding of how to effectively plan and implement pandemic flu emergency planning measures at their respective organizations.

SUNY Orange will videoconference the seminar to the other HVEC member-colleges – SUNY Rockland, SUNY Sullivan and SUNY Ulster – where attendees will be able to interact in real-time with the presenter and students at each of the locations. This seminar will be of most interest to senior managers who want to better understand the dynamics and phases of a pandemic flu emergency as well as the psychological and emotional impacts that pandemic-related fear can have on employees and their families.

Siegel is a practicing internist, an associate professor of medicine at New York University's Langone Medical Center and the Medical Director of Doctor Radio with NYU Langone and Sirius/XM Satellite Radio. Siegel is an expert in examining contagions as well as the fear s that accompany them.

The seminar fee is $195 per person. For more information or to register for these and other upcoming HVEC courses, please call the colleges’ respective continuing education departments: SUNY Orange (845) 341-4890, SUNY Rockland (845) 574-4151, SUNY Sullivan (845) 434-5750, x4398, and SUNY Ulster (845) 339-2025.
