GOSHEN, N.Y. – David Dirks, author of the recently published book “Job Search Marketing: Finding Job Opportunities In Any Economy,” will discuss how to successfully locate and land jobs in a difficult market during a pair of appearances at SUNY Orange this Fall.

Dirks will conduct a 90-minute workshop in the Gilman Center for International Education on the Middletown campus at 7 p.m., Oct. 14. He will reprise his presentation at 7 p.m., Nov. 12 in the Assembly Room of the Newburgh campus. Both workshops are free and open to the public. During these fast-paced events, Dirks will offer strategies and tactics to help job seekers unearth opportunities others cannot. He will also discuss various social networking platforms, how to best use them in creating a dynamic personal profile, and ways to effectively utilize them in the job search.

A marketing expert and strategist, Dirks has crafted a successful and diverse 18-year career as a marketing executive, working with small start-up companies to several Fortune 100 companies. During his own career, he has faced job search challenges as a result of corporate restructurings. He also co-authors “Big Dogz on Business,” a column published in the Middletown Times Herald-Record.

Dirks also publishes the quarterly “Job Search Marketing Newsletter,” a free publication filled with up-to-date information on job search strategies, tactics and case studies for those wanting to keep their job search skills and knowledge current.
