SUNY Orange Softball Coach Presented Certificate of Recognition at Board’s June Meeting

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – At its June 9 meeting, SUNY Orange’s Board of Trustees, along with President Dr. William Richards, presented softball coach Stacey Morris with a certificate of recognition in honor of Morris having notched her 300th career coaching victory earlier this spring.

The presentation, which occurred slightly more than a month after the Colts came within one weekend of reaching the National Junior College Athletic Association national championship tournament, marked the Board’s first opportunity to applaud Morris’ milestone since the completion of her team’s season.

The Colts enjoyed yet another stellar spring campaign in 2008, forging a 23-13 mark and advancing to the District G qualifier where they were eliminated from national tourney consideration by Delaware Tech-Owens Campus. SUNY Orange captured the Region XXI crown for the 12th time in Morris’ 15-year tenure.
