Osburn, who joined the College staff in January, arrives following a successful stint as proposal writer and research and development coordinator for Ulster BOCES in New Paltz.

Osburn brings to her new post nearly 20 years of grant development, research and administration, working with a variety of organizations throughout Orange and Ulster counties.

While with Ulster BOCES, Osburn, who resides in nearby Goshen, coordinated a $9 million grant program. Her duties included oversight and coordination of all elements of the grant process, including researching statistics, reviewing scientific research in proposal fields, writing narratives, identifying appropriate evaluation methods for grant implementation, developing timeline/action plans that include performance indicators, and developing budgets.

At SUNY Orange, she will oversee a diverse grant program that supports and enhances the College’s academic programs, student support services, administration and technology. In addition, funds from various federal, state and private foundation grants allow SUNY Orange to operate an array of collaborative partnerships with community and educational groups throughout Orange County, including Career Pathways in Tech Prep and the Center for Youth Development (Liberty Partnership Program).

A graduate of SUNY Oswego with a bachelor’s degree in English, Osburn currently serves as editor of a national e-newsletter distributed by the American Association of Grant Professionals. She also has ties to several local municipalities, having served as a project director for the Town of Warwick as well as proposal writer and grant consultant for the Towns of Goshen, Warwick and Tuxedo.

She holds membership in the Council for Resource Development, an Affilliate of the American Association of Community Colleges, the American Association of Grant Professionals and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
