JAZZ ENSEMBLE ANNOUNCES PAIR OF UPCOMING CONCERT DATES

Student Group to Perform in Orange Hall Theater on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – The SUNY Orange Jazz Ensemble will conduct a pair of concerts following Thanksgiving, including a daytime performance at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 29 and a prime time 8 p.m. showing Saturday, Dec. 1. Both concerts will take place in the College’s Orange Hall Theater.

Under the direction of Dave Miele, the Jazz Ensemble will perform musical numbers from among the following selections: “Blue Monk” and “It’s Over Now (Well You Needn’t) by Thelonious Monk), “The Sidewinder” by Lee Morgan, “Four on Six” by Wes Montgomery, “Popsicle Toes” by Michael Franks, “Work Song” by Nat Adderley, “Watermelon Man” by Herbie Hancock, “Song for My Father” by Horace Silver and “Blues in the Closet” by Oscar Pettiford.

Both performances are open to the public. Admission will be by donation to the SUNY Orange Arts and Communication Department’s music scholarship fund. For additional information, call (845) 341-4787.

Orange Hall Theater, located in Orange Hall, is universally accessible. General parking is available in the College parking lot at the intersection of Wawayanda and Grandview avenues.
