SUNY Orange faculty and staff are invited to attend a Learning Communities Conference, featuring a team from Kingsborough Community College, to be held on campus on Oct. 22-23.

The Learning Communities project is a collaborative effort between Student Services and Academic Affairs. It is anticipated that this project will have a positive impact on the retention and persistence of the students in the program. The long-term goal is to open this model to the entire student body following successful completion of a pilot program

The Kingsborough team has traveled to many colleges to offer faculty and staff training to help institutions establish on-campus learning communities. Kingsborough established its learning communities 10 years ago and they have been tremendously successful ever since.
