Pending Winter Storm Causes Show to be Called Off

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – With weather forecasts predicting snow and sleet throughout the day Friday, SUNY Orange officials have cancelled the Symphonic Band’s scheduled performance that was set for 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the historic Paramount Theater.

No makeup date will be scheduled for the performance, which was to feature dance music from past and present under the theme “Go for Baroque … and Dance!”

The band’s next concert is set for 8 p.m., Friday, April 28, also at the Paramount.

The band, comprised of students from Orange County Community College and members of the community from middle school age to senior citizens, is under the direction of Kevin Scott. For information about the band, contact the Arts and Communication Department at (845) 341-4787.

Local musicians interested in playing in the band should contact Scott to arrange an audition. Scott is particularly interested in musicians who can play flute, clarinet, trumpet and percussion instruments. The band meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the Paramount. All musicians are invited to participate but must have their own instrument.
