Open House, Information Nights, Admissions Booths at Galleria at Crystal Run Highlight Schedule

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – SUNY Orange Admissions counselors and staff will continue the College’s aggressive public outreach program with a host of events planned throughout the spring and summer, including seven appearances at the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown, information nights at both the Middletown campus and the Newburgh Extension Center, and the popular Admissions Open House in May.

The kickoff event for the Spring 2007 semester will occur Sunday, Feb. 4, when the College resumes its Admissions Information Booth schedule at the Galleria at Crystal Run. SUNY Orange admissions representatives will be available in the mall’s lower level center court from Noon to 4 p.m. to answer prospective students’ questions regarding SUNY Orange’s many programs and services. Additional information booths are scheduled monthly, including: March 11, April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1 and Aug. 5.

The marquis event in the spring/summer schedule is the College’s Spring Open House, slated from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, in the George F. Shepard Student Center in Middletown. The Open House is designed to help prospective students map their educational future, whether they will be first-time college students or former students looking to return to the classroom.

In addition to admissions information, forms and timelines, faculty and staff will be on hand to discuss the college’s many academic programs, as well as transfer and career possibilities students enjoy following graduation from SUNY Orange. Financial aid and scholarship information will also be available during the Open House. Students from the SUNY Orange Ambassadors will provide guided tours of campus and refreshments will be served in the Shepard Center throughout the Open House.

SUNY Orange offers more than 30 academic majors, boasts one of the finest student transfer success rates in the SUNY system and provides diverse educational opportunities to help students meet their goals. Students at SUNY Orange also enjoy many extra-curricular endeavors, and athletics and student activities representatives will have information regarding many of the sports programs, clubs and organizations at the College.

A spring Health Professions Information Night is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 12 at the Shepard Center (snow date is March 13). Students who are interested in enrolling in one of the College’s nine health professions programs are invited to attend so they may learn about application deadlines, academic requirements and post-graduate employment opportunities.

The College will also conduct a pair of General Information Nights, one at the Newburgh Extension Center (6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 2) and another at the Middletown Campus (6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 9).
