Collaborative Workshop Aims to Enhance Fundraising Efficiencies of Mid-Hudson Valley Nonprofit Organizations

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – As fundraising efforts continue to become more and more difficult for many groups around the country, SUNY Orange’s Institute for Nonprofit Leadership and Management will attempt to bolster the fundraising prowess of Mid-Hudson Valley non-profit organizations through a series of lectures and forum discussions at the College’s annual Philanthropy Day on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

At this year’s event, which runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 207 of the College’s Bio-Tech Building in Middletown, local non-profit leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a series of discussions, as well as learn about emerging new approaches that are working in other areas.

Eric G. Heffler, president of both the Certified Charitable Fundraising Council and the Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, will be the keynote speaker. His lecture will tackle “Fundraising in Times of Crisis and an Unstable Economy.” A discussion on “Selling Philanthropy to the General Public” will feature panelists Bill Madden, president of Madden Communications and Marketing, LLC; Peter Reiner, director of Admissions and Marketing at Long Island University’s Rockland Graduate campus; and John Eccleston, president of OpenGate Marketing Communications.

Lisa Gallina, director of the Goshen Extension Center of Marist College’s School of Graduate and Continuing Education, will present the case study “Strategies for Diversifying Your Funder Portfolio.”

Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. Admission to the event is free. For more information, contact Sanda Roding at (845) 341-4874.
