SUNY Orange Musicians to Offer Variety of Musical Numbers

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – The Arts and Communication Department at SUNY Orange has announced a pair of performances by the College’s Jazz Ensemble in Orange Hall Theater, featuring an 11 a.m. concert Thursday, Nov. 30, and an evening showing at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.

Under the direction of Dave Miele, the ensemble will perform selections from among the following numbers: “Say That!” (by Grant Geissman), “So What” (Miles Davis), “Blue Bossa” (Joe Henderson), “Played Twice” (Thelonious Monk), “Nostalgia in Times Square” (Charles Mingus), “Little B’s Poem” (Bobby Hutcherson), “Green Dolphin Street” (Kaper Bronislaw/Ned Washington), “Chitlins Con Carne” (Kenny Burrell), “Blowin’ the Blues Away” (Horace Silver), “St. Thomas” (Sonny Rollins) and “And I Love Her” (John Lennon/Paul McCartney).

The performance is open to the general public. Admission is free but donations to support the Arts and Communications Department’s music scholarship program will gladly be accepted.

Orange Hall Theater, located in Orange Hall, is universally accessible. General parking is available in the college parking lot at the intersection of Wawayanda and Grandview avenues.
