Learning Assistance Services Welcomes You
The Mission of Learning Assistance Services is to provide the opportunity for every college student to develop the learning skills necessary for achieving academic, career and life goals.
Support is provided to SUNY Orange students through a combination of academic development programing including individualized and group learning assistance, tutoring and specialized workshops and outreach.
- The Tutorial Program is available to help students maximize their learning potential through skill development and content mastery while meeting course requirements of academic departments. The primary role of tutoring is to support classroom learning.
- The Developmental Education Program provides coordinated services that support students in their development of reading, writing, and mathematic skills. The primary role of developmental education is to prepare students for college level study.
- The Learning Community Program is being developed to enhance student persistence through offerings that foster social and academic integration so that students will experience a sense of belonging to a special community of learners.
